Languages helpful and fun for the Neo Pagan:
At some point in your studies, you may feel comfortable enough doing rituals in english that you may decide to learn another language to add power and prestige to your ritual, no it is not necessary, but words do hold power, and this is why some choose to learn other languages. Here are a couple great sites I found, more is to come, but I have to find them first...
- Flashlang.com Irish Gaelic, like flash cards with audio.. very nice and easy to pick up.. The first 150 words on the 'flash cards' are free, but to get access to the 1000+ word vocabulary it is only 15 bucks, which is cheaper than most Irish-English/English-Irish dictionaries, and you don't have audio with the dictionary.
- Erins Web: Irish Gaelic with the link above and this link used in tandem, I believe picking up Irish Gaelic would be pretty easy.. which is what I'm trying to do at the moment. The lessons on this site are free. Easy to understand pronounciation guide in lesson 1. Also gives the 'key codes' for the fadas on your keyboard, also helpful with the flashlang site, just make a 'cheat sheet' and put it somewhere you can see on your computer desk.
- The Ardalambion Languages of J.R.R. Tolkien, ok so these are made up.. so what.. There is an online course to learn Quenya Elvish to download on these pages.
